Bripda Ignatius Dwi Frisco Sirage, or better known as Rico, was a member of Densus 88 Anti-terror Police who died on duty on Sunday, 23 July 2023. Rico died after allegedly being shot by two fellow police officers at the Police Flat, Cikeas, Gunung Putri, Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia.
Rico was born on February 27 2022 to Y Pandi and Inosensia Antonia Tarigas. Before becoming a police officer and serving in the capital city, Rico and his family lived in Nanga Pinoh District, Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan. Rico has aspired to become a police officer since childhood. Even when he was still in kindergarten, he asked to buy a police uniform on Kartini's day.
Rico studied at the Police Academy (Akpol) and graduated in 2020. He was then assigned as a member of the Detention and Evidence Sub-Section (Subbagtahti) of the Operational Section (Bagops) of Densus 88 Anti-terror Police. Rico is known as a police officer who serves the country and excels in carrying out his duties. He has been involved in operations to arrest terrorists in several areas, such as Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.
Rico is also known as a caring and loving person to his family and friends. His father, Y Pandi, said that Rico always calls his family every day to ask how they are. His mother, Inosensia, said that Rico was a very good child and always helped others. His friends in Detachment 88 said that Rico taught them a lot about their position as police officers.
Rico leaves behind a wife named Rika Febriani and a daughter named Ignatia Dwi Frisco Sirage who is only one year old. Rico's body has been returned to Pontianak, West Kalimantan, to be buried with military ceremonies. The police are still investigating the motive and chronology of the shooting that killed Rico. Two suspects in the shooting, namely Bripda IMS and Bripka IG, have been arrested and detained by a joint team from the Bogor Police Propam and Criminal Investigation Unit.
